Fancy dinner in Auckland

We took Sarah and her friend Anna out for a special dinner in Auckland . We sat on a second floor balcony next to the Harbour overlooking the water front. I had mussels to start. They were 6 inches long and were served in a brown sauce ( gravy? Barbeque sauce? ) they were like chewing on pieces of inner tube. I next had Seafood Liguini, served with unshelled shrimp and other unidentifiable tidbits. smothered in that same ( sweet ?) brown sauce. Liguini was overcooked. I left most on my plate. They don't serve bread or rolls with a meal so I was done. I washed this down with a tiny glass of wine ($23)the total for the four of us( girls had water only) was $ 315 I think I will stick to the small ethnic resturants
