Dubai

We flew in at 6 am and when we arrived at hotel at 8, they said check in was at 2 pm. We left our baggage and departed for the old harbor ( sound familiar? ). We walked along the docks watching them load old cargo boats with boxes, crates, tires, even used cars. We later were told these ships were headed for Somalia and Yemen. We were approached by a young Arab offering his small boat as a means of touring the harbor. We jumped at the chance. These small boats cruise the harbor as water taxis, ferrying the locals throughout the area. He later dropped us off at the old open air market place. He pointed out the local Shieks yachts and offices and was full of waterfront stories. He charged us $16 US. We were glad we started the day early , by noon the desert sun was starting to be oppressive and we were ready for some shade.
