Philippines

We arrived at our resort after 2 very long days of travel. We flew from Manila to the Island of Leyte where General Macarther landed in WW2. David,  the resort owner picked us up in Tacloban for a 3 1/2 hour drive to our destination on the southern tip of Leyte. We are at the outskirts of a tiny village on the coast looking out toward the volcano covered island of Cebu. The resort is tiny with 5 guest rooms, we are in the Tower Room above the entrance. The place is a recently converted private villa owned by a man from Scotland, David, and his Philipino wife Delia. Currently, besides us, there is an Australian family,
a German, and  2 Canadian UN workers.
Despite the fact that we are very close to the equator , the sea breeze keeps it in the 80's, beautiful weather. We are here for a week.

  1. Looks stunning! I just looked up Leyte on a map and you are really far away. It's cold and rainy here. Enjoy that warm sun.
