Jakarta

This is our 3rd time staying at this Sheraton while transiting thru Jakarta. I always feel guilty staying in such luxury in this poor country, this time more than ever since they gave us a free upgrade to an over the top suite. The suite is huge with 5 rooms and 2 bathrooms,  all with marble floors and beautiful mahogany woodwork. 

   Jakarta is obviously tense from recent ISIS attacks with the terrorists promising more. Soldiers were in the airport patrolling. After wading thru crowds of cabbies pleading for hire, it was reassuring to be meet by a man holding a sign for our hotel. We were driven 

thru 2 military type checkpoints after entering the barb wire enclosed hotel grounds. We then passed thru metal detectors and had hand luggage checked for bombs before entering the lobby. The Islamic terrorists have attacked luxury western hotels in the past here. 

  We're flying to Bali in the morning ( a 1 1/2 hour flight ). I can't wait to get out of here.
