Oldest House in Hanoi

This several hundred year old house was built by a Chinese merchant. The house was one room wide and 3 rooms deep with an open air courtyard in the center. The open air kitchen had a dome covered cistern feed by a gutter. Cooking was done on a fire on the floor. The bedroom and living room were upstairs, it was a very livable nice house . Roof was post and beam. The only widows facing the street were upstairs and heavily bared.
