Tropical down pour

On our way back to Bali we went thru a massive school of hundreds of dolphins. They were clear of the water doing flips and spirals, too quick to photograph, quite a sight. As the dolphins passed, a storm front loomed ahead . That wall of water hit mid voyage , visibility was 100 feet and it poured the rest way to shore. We arrived at the dock to a flash flood, the road had turned into a river, the water was too deep to drive thru, the driver and guide searched the flooded road for the shallowest path , we got out after a couple of hours

Menjangan Island

We traveled to a small uninhibited island 10 miles off the coast of Bali.the crystal clear waters were full of colorful coral and fish. A huge shark swam underneath me while scuba diving. He completely ignored me. The island had lots of barking deer, check out the huge buck sitting in the shade. The waterfront caves swarmed with large fruit bats hanging from the ceiling. The Balinese decorate their houses for weddings. Our driver said it was ok to photograph from the road. Check out Grandma, she's pointing at me and yelling,

Coffee

The plantation offered various coffees, teas, hot chocolates , etc. We sampled each one while sitting on bamboo benches in the jungle shade. Coffee was wonderful , the women are roasting and pounding the dried coffee ( no grinders)

Back in lush green Bali

After landing, our driver drove 4 hours to the remote north coast. We stopped at a coffee plantation carved out of the jungle . The photos are in order: coffee, black pepper, vanilla bean, taro, papaya and killer hot peppers

Strange fruit

This fruit looked and felt like lizard skin, It grows on a type of palm tree. After peeling the thin skin, the interior was hard and crunchy, tasted like mildly sweet strawberry. I liked it, I ate two,
